Welcome! The Gallery Cafe is a not-for-profit vegetarian and vegan cafe situated near the Museum of Childhood and Museum gardens in Bethnal Green. The Cafe provides tasty veggie fare (and free WIFI!) and an exciting range of live events in a relaxed and friendly community environment.
The Gallery Cafe is part of St. Margaret’s House, a charity organisation which owns the beautiful Georgian building the cafe is housed, and rents space for community organisations and charities at affordable prices and sometimes free- so by eating here you are supporting worthwhile work in the community. Our Events We offer live music, film, visual arts, comedy and spoken word, as well as organising larger events, festivals and special seasons throughout the year. We promote most of our events in house, but we do have a small number of external promoters who run regular events at the Cafe.
We are proud to be not-for-profit, and every penny spent in the Cafe and at our events goes back into our community work that we run alongside St Margaret’s House. We try to keep as many events as we can free to make them accessible to all members of the local community, and those that we do charge for we ensure the ticket price is very reasonable.
